Poetry: Horse Tails, White Dragons

During the last few years, I've been writing a poem each day and posting it on Facebook. Most of my poems are celebrations of natural beauty; a few are ethical/political commentaries with some bite.

You can see more poems by visiting my new Facebook page.

I also have a published book of poetry out now. Inquire at revted9@gmail.com

Horse Tails, White Dragons

Horse tails of mist rising
over the Big River at sunrise
White Dragons shimmering in a light breeze
savoring a last moment
before they disappear
into Clear Light.

What clouds of joy
await us
when we stop trying so hard
to stand out
and settle into
the lap that holds us
gently and surely
as the Big River
that nourishes all life
and tumbles
through the dark valleys
of our dreaming...

Shine, shine
and then let go---
who could ask
for a better passage
or a more elegant way to cross over?
